Home Assist Secure is a Queensland Government initiative that provides access to home maintenance and modification services to help older Queenslanders live well in their own homes.
To be eligible for Home Assist Secure services, you must be at least 60 years old (or any age with a disability), hold a Pensioner Concession Card, be unable to complete the work yourself and unable to have the work completed through alternative assistance (such as through family or friends or other funding schemes).
Services include free information and referrals to trusted tradespeople, in-home assessments, and subsidised assistance for home maintenance, repairs, minor modifications, safety and security upgrades. If you’re eligible, you may receive a financial contribution toward labour costs for minor modifications including handrails and ramps; yard and outside maintenance; smoke alarm-related jobs including installation, battery changes and cleaning and repairs and maintenance.
Government-funded home care services can make a big difference when it comes to staying in the home you love for as long as possible. Carol is one of many people aged over 60 who receive free information and referrals to trusted tradespeople, in-home safety assessments and subsidised home maintenance and modification services to stay safe, secure and humming along happily at home.
