Leanne unites two passions as a volunteer

Leanne is one of 18 volunteers in the Moreton Bay area that drive Centacare aged care and disability care clients where they need to be. But she is much more than a driver, she is filling her days doing what she loves most - driving and meeting new people.

Helping others is a way of life for Kaye

Kaye is making a big difference for our aged care and disability care clients, volunteering her time to support the operation of our transport service. Helping others in this way is something Kaye has always loved to do, “I have been very fortunate in my life which makes me want to give back to the community, and volunteering is a great way to do this”.

Ways you could volunteer

There are opportunities to volunteer across our aged care, disability care, family and relationship care, Early Edcare and community and pastoral care offerings. These include:

  • hospital pastoral care and prison chaplaincy
  • ministry to seafarers
  • pastoral care for visitors to our Mental Health hub
  • working with our Indigenous support service, Murri Ministry
  • driving buses for our aged care and disability care services.

If there is a particular area that interests you we encourage you to share this with us when you get in touch.

Commitment to safeguarding

Centacare sets high standards of conduct for all employees and volunteers as part of our commitment to safeguarding the communities we support. As part of this commitment, prior to employment, we conduct background referencing for all people whose roles will involve engaging with children, young and/or vulnerable people.
