Jordan and Shiralee answer calling to care

Jordan and Shiralee didn’t start their careers as support workers. Jordan, 30, served in the army and mother of three Shiralee, 31, worked as a receptionist and a cleaner. Gold Coast hub artwork reconciles two worlds

This NAIDOC Week (3-10 July) Centacare reaffirms its commitment to social justice and the importance of healing and reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples, commissioning an original artwork by contemporary Indigenous artist, 17-year old Brooke Sutton. The artwork takes pride of place in the reception area of Centacare's new Gold Coast hub and Gold Coast Family Relationship Centre.

“Winn beloved”, postcards from the war

It was 1945, but Winn can remember the day she stood on the platform at Clapham Junction Railway Station like it was yesterday. She was there to reunite with her fiancé, Rob, who was returning from the war in Britain. She said it was the happiest day of her life. On Friday 1 April, Attorney-General Shannon Fentiman and Bishop Ken Howell officially opened our new Gold Coast hub and Gold Coast Family Relationship Centre. Our Gold Coast team welcomed about 60 guests to the opening, including clients and their families.
