‘Waminda’ means place of friendship, and that’s just what you’ll find when you visit us.
Surrounded by Gubbi Gubbi and Ningy Ningy country, we are strongly connected to the local community and especially our local Indigenous Elders.
Some of our local community choose Waminda because they want the opportunity to celebrate and learn more about their culture; while others enjoy the fact that we are a culturally sensitive, all inclusive service that welcomes everyone, in all their wonderful diversity.
At Waminda we offer a culturally appropriate service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Moreton Bay region. Our team work closely within the local community to ensure programs are responsive, accessible and culturally safe. If you identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and are over 50 years of age you may be able to access funding to assist you in accessing our services.
