Spending time in hospital – whether it be overnight or for a longer period of time – can be an overwhelming and worrying experience. Away from their usual environment, with lots of new information to absorb, many people find they need a little extra support during their hospital stay.
A visit from a chaplain can be an opportunity to make sense of things, by talking through what you are feeling and experiencing with someone who will sit quietly with you and listen without judgement.
Centacare chaplains are located in hospitals across South East Queensland. Patients can request a visit with a chaplain through the hospital’s chaplaincy department or their nurse unit manager.

If you are looking for pastoral care in a hospital we haven’t listed, contact us on 1300 236 822 and our team will do their best to assist you.
All hospital pastoral carers must complete a 12 month accredited training program prior to beginning work in a hospital. Pastoral carers continue to be supervised by the hospital’s Chaplaincy Coordinator and receive ongoing spiritual formation for their role.
