overnight care for your loved one

Our wide range of flexible, ‘help to care’ options give families and carers the opportunity to rest and recharge with the knowledge that their loved one feels safe, relaxed and cared for in the same high quality way they are used to.

At Pechey Place, care is provided each day between 6am and 10pm. However, a member of our care team is onsite 24 hours per day and will provide support during the night if needed, for example if a guest is unwell or needs redirection to their room.

As a dementia-friendly organisation, our teams receive dementia training to help them understand dementia, learn strategies to communicate effectively with people living with the condition, and appreciate the impact that dementia can have on everyone involved.

We ask families and carers of people with dementia to help us get to know to our guests before they arrive. What are the established routines that work well for you and the person you care for? How can we manage transitions best? Tell us what brings comfort and what has been important in your loved one’s life, so we can create opportunities to connect with them.

At Pechey Place you’ll enjoy a fully accessible, modern property set in a quiet neighbourhood close to parks and shops.

Spacious lounge and dining areas, a covered courtyard and concreted walking paths give guests the opportunity to come together for group activities and gentle exercise.

Our four bedrooms are all comfortably furnished and equipped with a smart television and alarm clock radio.

Our kitchen is fully accessible, and guests are welcome to assist with meal preparation of make themselves a cuppa or snack.

All meals are freshly prepared by our team on-site. Our menu will cater to all dietary requirements, cultural needs, food allergies and intolerances. We have an ‘excellent’ food safety rating under the Nutrition Australia Food Safety System.

Depending on your needs as a carer, a cottage stay can be anywhere from 1 or 2 nights or a long weekend to a couple of weeks, depending on availability at the time. We can be as flexible around the length of stay as you need.

There are no limitations on how often your loved one can stay per year. It depends on what you need as a carer, to ensure the longevity of your role and that the person you care for can remain living at home for as long as possible.

Contact one of our friendly team to discuss upcoming availability at our cottage. You are welcome to visit us at the cottage prior to making a booking to make sure that Cottage Respite is right for the person you care about.
