Hospital Pastoral Care

Spending time in hospital – whether it be overnight or for a longer period of time – can be an overwhelming and worrying experience. Away from their usual environment, with lots of new information to absorb, many people find they need a little extra support during their hospital stay.

A visit from a pastoral carer can be an opportunity to make sense of things, by talking through what you are feeling and experiencing with someone who will sit quietly with you and listen without judgement.

Centacare pastoral carers are located in hospitals across South East Queensland. Patients can request a visit with a pastoral carer through the hospital’s chaplaincy department or their nurse unit manager.
